Trek overview
Volcanic Landscapes & Berber Villages
Discover a quieter and more adventurous side of Morocco on this 8-day trek through the Jbel Siroua, an ancient volcanic massif rising to 3,304 metres between the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas Mountains.
Far less frequented than the famous Toubkal region, Siroua offers a spectacular combination of volcanic landscapes, high-altitude plateaus, traditional Berber villages, and peaceful mountain trails.
Starting in Marrakesh, the journey takes you towards Taliouine, Morocco's renowned saffron-growing region, before entering the remote landscapes of Jbel Siroua. Trek through cultivated terraces, high mountain pastures, dramatic basalt formations, and traditional villages while spending nights in mountain gîtes and remote bivouacs. The highlight of the adventure is the ascent of Jbel Siroua at 3,304 metres, offering panoramic views across the High Atlas, Anti-Atlas, and Souss plains.
This trek is ideal for travelers looking to experience Morocco's mountains away from the more crowded routes, while connecting with local communities and the landscapes that make the Siroua region so special.
